Dr. Jonathan W. White, associate professor of American Studies at Christopher Newport University, will be the speaker for the Frank and Virginia Williams Lecture on Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Studies. White’s talk "In A House Built By Slaves: African American Encounters with Abraham Lincoln" is based on his upcoming book entitled To Address You As My Friend: African Americans' Letters to Abraham Lincoln. The Lecture will be held on October 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the John Grisham Room, Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State University.
