MSU Libraries Hosts Third E. O. Templeton, Jr. History and Genealogy Fair

The Mississippi State University Libraries’ Department of Special Collections is pleased to announce the third annual E. O. Templeton, Jr. History and Genealogy Fair being held June 4, 2016, from 9 AM to 4:30PM at the Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State University.

Speakers include Chuck Yarborough, of the Mississippi School for Math and Science in Columbus, MS, director of the annual “Tales from the Crypt” program; Hellen Polk, from the Mississippi Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; and Dr. Shirley Hanshaw, Associate Professor of English, Mississippi State University.

Two hands-on workshops will be offered: a beginner’s guide to online research by DeeDee Baldwin, Senior Associate-Manuscripts, Mississippi State University Libraries, and an advanced class on decoding family stories, by Jennifer McGillan, Coordinator of Manuscripts, Mississippi State University Library, with Special Guest Mrs. Betty Templeton. Exhibits by local genealogical clubs and societies and tours of library exhibitions and the Special Collections department will also be available.
