Metadata and Monographic Cataloging

The Metadata and Monographic Cataloging Department creates and adapts bibliographic records that describe resources held by the Libraries, including creators of the information, subject headings that help describe its content, format of the information, and the availability of the resource. Catalogers also create authority records that provide consistency in the use of access points (names, works, subjects, and series) in the Libraries’ online catalog.
